spectral compressor
Three engines. One obsession.
SPC OCD
Compress both ways. Color every band.
Pull detail out of the dark. Pin peaks into place. Shape low, mid, and high frequencies through independent liquid spectral engines.

“Density, obsessively controlled.”
SPC OCD is the aggressive "make it dense" tool: a three-band upward/downward compressor in the OTT lineage, taken further. A phase-matched LR4 crossover splits the signal into three bands you can drag right on the monitor; each band gets threshold, gain, colour, and its own independent stereo spectral engine — Shape, Noise, Post, Smooth and Focus — that works the band in the frequency domain while the dynamics squeeze it in time. Global IN, DEPTH, TIME, UP, DOWN, COLOR, OUT and MIX knobs drive the whole machine at once, a zero-latency Post Color tone stage sits after band recombination, and a stereo-linked 1 ms lookahead limiter with an exact ceiling guards the output. The monitor is a black CRT-style surface with smooth liquid input/output traces, independent band-result fills, live per-band badges and crossover lines. The workflow bar carries factory and versioned user presets, direct A/B with COPY, and real undo/redo. It is engineered tight: packed-stereo FFTs halve the spectral cost, sleeping instances idle at almost nothing, and the whole console re-skins through the shared Spectral Colors theme pack. Validated hard — thousands of host/lifecycle checks, 256 simultaneous instances, and a clean official CLAP validator pass.

Latest updates
Actively developed — recent fixes and improvements:
- Console themes — the shared Spectral Colors theme pack arrives via the Options panel.
- Store release hardening — verified against the official CLAP validator.
- Silence-resume fix — upward compression no longer pre-charges gain during silence, eliminating the loud burst when playback resumed after a pause.
- The molded console — rebuilt editor in the Spectral Colors house style with the CRT liquid monitor, plus user preset SAVE/LOAD, A/B, COPY, undo and redo.
- The performance rounds — packed-stereo FFTs, precomputed spectral curves and CLAP sleep: the dense full stack nearly twice as fast, silent instances ~300× cheaper.

Made to be played
Every knob morphs the sound.
SPC OCD is built for real-time sound design. Turn a control and the whole signal reacts at once — spectral colour, granular texture and modulation respond live, right in your DAW. Nothing is baked in: every parameter is fully automatable and MIDI-mappable, so you can draw evolving movement, morph a vector-scope signal, and lock in a one-of-a-kind sound no preset could give you.
