Introducing SPC Outlaw
On this page5 sections
Meet SPC Outlaw — the compressor of the SPC line. It brings seven compression characters, frequency-aware spectral dynamics and an oversampled saturation stage together on one animated Night City console, and it stays light enough to drop on every track in the session.
Seven characters, one honest curve
Clean, VCA, FET, Opto, Vari-Mu, Glue and OTT each shape ratio, knee and timing their own way — but they all ride the same testable static transfer curve, so the meter never lies about what you hear. Detection runs Peak, RMS or Hybrid, and the release is program-dependent: it breathes with the material instead of pumping against it.
Stations that know the material
Pick a station — Bass, Mid, High or Allround — and Outlaw re-voices only its detector for that kind of source. The sound you compress is untouched; the station just changes what the compressor listens to, so a bass station stops a loud 60 Hz from ducking your 4 kHz.
Frequency-aware, only when you ask
Open the Spectral Menu and the compressor becomes a three-band STFT engine: movable crossovers, per-band character and threshold, GRIP and LIFT moves, and drag-to-reorder routing. It only reports latency while it is engaged — a plain compress stays zero-latency.
Colour on the way out
The End Chain adds saturation between gain and makeup — Spectral Sat, Tape and Cryptic families, all oversampled and level-compensated — and you can reorder the whole SPEC → COMP → END path to taste.
You can see everything
The Night City / Wildberry console shows a live transfer curve with the current operating point, a gain-reduction pressure contour over the waveform, a built-in analyzer, activity-driven knob glow and a running terminal log. Eighteen themes, factory presets, A/B and CPU/GPU rendering finish it off.
SPC Outlaw is a Windows CLAP plugin. Wanted: dynamics, dead or alive.
